Life doesn’t always give us a heads-up before it turns upside down. Sometimes, chaos arrives without warning, and everything feels uncertain. But in the middle of all that turmoil and heartbreak, peace can still be found, it is not easy at all, but like quiet moments in a storm, or small steps forward when things feel stuck. Natural disasters can leave deep wounds. They shake our homes, our routines, and our sense of safety, and when it’s all over, the emotional damage can linger just as long as the physical ones. It’s okay to feel grief, fear, and exhaustion. Those feelings are real and valid.
Start by showing your kindness to others. We can all overcome something hard. Let your thoughts be patient and comforting. Create small routines that allow you to heal and /or be the tool to help even things around you better for everyone. A morning coffee, a short walk, a moment of stillness with those affected, can help bring back a sense of normal. Lean on and support your community, friends, neighbors, volunteers, they show up with helping hands and open hearts. Limit the overload. It’s okay to take a break from the news or social media. Protect your mind as you care for your heart.
Share compassion, offering a meal, sharing supplies, or just listening can remind someone they’re not alone. Disasters may tear things apart, but kindness helps put the pieces back together. When we show up for each other with empathy and care we begin to rebuild not just homes, but hope.
Let`s pray for Texas
